Who is Harry Truman? (An Audio Montage)
Back in the days of near antiquity I apprenticed, then worked in a recording studio. This was in the now by-gone era of magnetic tape, head degaussers, and editing with grease pencils & razor blades.
This assignment was for me & Kevin to do a 10 minute montage which had to include: 1) an atomic bomb explosion; 2) the sound of a race car; 3) Knute Rockne.
Funny how the more things change, the more they stay the same.

I worked at WKAR AM in East Lansing Michigan in the 80’s. I had to leave my watch at home because of the big electo magnet we used to erase tapes. I lved editing tape.

Was just talking to a buddy of mine over a cup of coffee this afternoon about working film & prints in a dark room. There’s something very satisfying about the “old school” ways of working with your hands. Editing tape was definitely like that — though my laptop is a whole lot smaller and lighter than the refrigerator-sized Ampex we had.
