This really is a great country filled with good people who have amazing ideas and talents.  I’d sure like to keep it that way.

CDR: Neoconfibromatosis

October 27, 2010 1 comment

Neoconfibromatosis is a media-borne disorder in which somatic sensory afferent neuron fibers are compromised such that sensory stimulation becomes seriously impaired, eventually causing significant atrophy of prefrontal cortex brain function. Commonly known as “Elephant Man’s Disease” due to the phenomenon that Republicans and Conservatives are the only documented individuals to be so distorted, the result is a severe and repulsive public image disfigurement:  “greedy, bigoted, racist, sexist, misogynistic, homophobic, Nazi, hate mongers.”

Curiously, Neoconfibromatosis is autosomal political, which means that it affects both Democrats and Republicans equally, as many GOP party members and RINOs often have a poor self image and unfavorable perceptions of fellow conservatives.

ObamaCare and Article 58

October 26, 2010 1 comment

When Progressives/Liberals/Democrats repeatedly and purposefully call political opponents like Republican candidates, Tea Party-types, Glenn Beck,  and even some of their own who don’t toe the party line (e.g.,  Juan Williams) “crazy,” some might think that it is just, well, crazy talk or heated rhetoric by politicians and partisans desperate to save an election.  But we should think twice about it . . . . Maybe even three times . . . .

“In the Soviet Union, psychiatry was used for punitive purposes. Psychiatric hospitals were used by the authorities as prisons in order to isolate hundreds or thousands of political prisoners from the rest of society, discredit their ideas [emphasis added] and break them physically and mentally; as such they are considered a form of torture. This method was also employed against religious prisoners, including especially well-educated atheists who converted to a religion; in such cases their religious faith was determined to be a form of mental illness that needed to be cured.”  (Wikipedia – http://bit.ly/aCJ2Bf)

Didn’t we just give THE STATE control of health care . . . . including mental health care?

Many will think or say, “That’s crazy — It couldn’t happen here.”

Perhaps 120,000 Japanese-Americans had the same thoughts about being rounded up and transported to internment camps under Democrat President Franklin Roosevelt’s Executive Order 9066.

And aren’t these the very same people who are denying us the right to freely consume salt, potatoes and Coca-Cola as we wish?  It might be a small happiness to pursue, but isn’t it still our unalienable right to pursue happiness?

Or is it?

First you tolerate their words . . . . Then you endure their actions.

Clear and Present Dangers . . . . Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn

CDR: Mediopia

Mediopia is a reflexive defect of the objective journalistic eye in which image, thought and expressive focus is blurred due to internal pressures brought about by near pathological adherence to a philosophical or political paradigm and the urge to validate its tenants despite facts and data to the contrary. In severe cases, even a victim’s hindsight is not 20/20. Researchers are still searching for effective treatments and cures.

To The Prodigal U.S. Media . . . . Come Home

October 21, 2010 Leave a comment

Evidently, the Main Stream Media just ain’t getting the job done . . . . at least in the eyes of George Soros.

Recently he has given:

$1.8 Million to NPR to fund political reporters: http://bit.ly/ctpFLr

$1.75 Million to the Huffington Post for “a wide-range of investigative journalism created by both staff reporters and freelance writers.”  http://bit.ly/cry2uD

$1.0 Million to Media Matters for, in George Soros’ own words:  “I am supporting Media Matters in an effort to more widely publicize the challenge Fox News poses to civil and informed discourse in our democracy.”    http://bit.ly/cZDDpZ

One has to wonder what the MSM’s leadership is thinking about the billionaire’s millions seemingly shoving them out of the way.  Whether leftist reporto-bots get it or not, those at the top have to look at cratering ratings and readership, their growing alienation from increasing numbers of this country’s citizens and, apparently, their irrelevance to the five hundred pound gorilla in Progressive politics.

Perhaps it is time to reach out and invite the Prodigal U.S. Media back into the fold.

No one wants shallow propagandists to simply change their jerseys from blue to red.  No one wants all reporters, editors and journalists to think, write, speak and report alike.  No one wants news that hides, obscures or ignores truths just because they might be inconvenient to someone somewhere — especially someones with power.

But if the effort is made to faithfully practice the craft of their profession –

“Journalism is the investigation and reporting of events, issues, and trends to a broad audience. Although there is much variation within journalism, the ideal is to inform the citizenry.” (Wikipedia — http://bit.ly/96yRib)

Then I think our country could use — and would welcome — a “Fourth Estate” all citizens can believe in again.

Journalism is the investigation and reporting of events, issues, and trends to a broad audience. Although there is much variation within journalism, the ideal is to inform the citizenry.

Amendicitis is a condition characterized by acute inflammation of legislation. Symptoms for the most part relate to a disturbed function of governmental bowels. Untreated, mortality is high, mainly because a bill becomes filled with regulatory mucus and pus which may lead to societal septicemia, causing incapacitation, paralysis or even expiration in the private sector, should the bill become law.
